This hot fudge sauce is worth every bit of time that you will put into it! It’s the perfect balance of fudgy and sweet.

Yes, it is easier to buy a jar from the store, but it’s not near as good. I promise.

What you will need:

  • 4 squares of unsweetened chocolate (like Bakers)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • pinch of sea salt

Melt your chocolate and butter down in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently. (Don’t leave your chocolate unattended. It will burn!) Once smooth, pour in the sugar. Whisk in. Add 1/2 cup of cream. Simmer over low heat until all of the sugar is dissolved. (Usually, takes about ten minutes.) Once dissolved, remove from heat. Stir in the remaining cream, vanilla, and a pinch of sea salt.

Can be used immediately or stored in the fridge for up to two weeks. The sauce will thicken as it cools. Makes approximately 2 cups.
