Hot Chocolate Bombs are a fun, winter treat. They taste delicious but also add an exciting experience as they slowly melt away to reveal an inside of fluffy marshmallows.

Before I jump into it, let me recommend one way NOT to do it. DON’T just plop your bomb into a mug of hot milk. It will take the bomb longer to melt away and leave your milk time to cool off too much. Plus, it takes away from the “melt-away magic.”

Do keep in mind that hot chocolate bombs are fragile. Handle them too roughly and they will break. Leave them in a hot car, sunshine, or a hot place and they will melt. So, it’s best to keep them in a cool, dry place and handle with care when ready to use.

Hot Chocolate Bomb Instructions

  • 11 oz coffee mug (or larger)
  • 8 oz whole milk*
  • 1 hot chocolate bomb
  • spoon to stir

*Feel free to substitute the whole milk for your milk of choice. You can even use water with the Mama Did It Hot Chocolate Bombs, though they will be less rich.

Heat your milk until steaming, but not boiling. Place your bomb gently in the bottom of your mug. Slowly pour the steaming milk over your bomb. The bomb will slowly melt away and open up to reveal the hidden marshmallows inside. Stir and enjoy!
