Here is a delicious, easy, and most importantly, authentic copycat of Taco Bell’s Taco Sauce.

The day I decided to play around with this recipe, I was full of aspirations and high hopes that just maybe I could make a copycat taco sauce that was packed with flavor. I wanted it to taste fresh and not as vinegary as the product we buy off of the store shelves.

Low and behold!! Simple ingredients came together and it was really amazing! I probably could have turned up a cup of it. Maybe that’s weird, but it was that good!!

I’m so happy to share this with you. It is easy to make, and you may already have all of the ingredients for it in your home. You can use this immediately or store it in the fridge for up to two weeks.

This is a terrific taco sauce to go with the Copycat Taco Bell Mexican Pizza. I was so disappointed when I heard Taco Bell was discontinuing their Mexican Pizzas. You are also sure to find that this is an amazing addition for nachos, tacos, enchiladas, or easy chicken chimichangas.

Copycat Taco Bell Sauce Recipe

  • 14 oz can of tomato sauce (organic varieties pack a good flavor punch)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (cuts the acidity)
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (double it if you like it “taco bell hot”)
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar

Mix all of your ingredients in a small saucepan and whisk together well. Place over low heat and allow to come to a simmer. Simmer your sauce for 15-20 minutes. It’s ready to serve.
