How to Root Lavender is a simple way to expand it in your garden or gift it to a friend.

If you have followed my tips for rooting rosemary, then you can easily root lavender!

Lavender is a beautiful herb and smells lovely. I played around the other day with it and made a lavender simple syrup (recipe soon to come so make sure to subscribe). It was great in iced coffee!

You can root herbs to gift to others or simply to make more of an herb you already have. Do you have lavender in your garden, but want to pot it for your front porch? Then you are in the right place!

DIY Rooting Lavender

  • Take a few freshly cut sprigs of lavender and place them in a small glass of water. (I use a shot glass. It’s the perfect size.)
  • Put them in a sunny window. You may need to add water from time to time as it will evaporate.
  • After one month, you will have roots on your lavender.

Ready to plant? You can plant your lavender directly in your garden or place in a pot with your favorite soil.

Happy Herb Gardening!
